It’s astonishing that consumers are now putting their own data at risk, by failing to use these measures, despite growing concerns around their security. It’s resulting in an alarming amount of breaches – 80% – being caused by weak or previously stolen credentials. Something has to change soon on both the business and consumer sides or this is only going to get worse.

- Jason Hart, CTO, Identity and Data Protection at Gemalto.

The password system is broken. It doesn’t work for users or companies and is a treasure for hackers to steal.

Passwords are the weakest link in cyber security

-said Michael Chertoff, former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

“A closer examination of major breaches reveals a common theme: In every “major headline” breach, the attack vector has been the common password.”. A whole industry of the user authentication  has grown around the broken concept – re-useable credentials.
Present user authentication or transaction confirmation technologies still use passwords or other reusable credentials, like in case of password managers providing Single Sign On capability for users.  This makes life a little bit easier for users but creates a single point of failure of the system and makes life  much easier for hackers: just one password they need to steal to gain access to all our accounts. This is also a reason why password managers such as Lastpass, Onelogin and others were hacked so many times. Systems based on biometrics are also vulnerable. A leakage of biometric data  (as it happened with over 5 million biometric records of Office of Personal Management in 2015) and users will not be able to use them for the rest of their lives. It is also very easy to spoof biometric technologies that are promoted as fully secure.
You can change a password but you can’t change your fingerprint or iris.
That is why Cyberus Labs has created a universal solution that is easy to use, ultra-secure and  easy to integrate for companies – CYBERUS KEY. It is the first multi-factor user authentication system of the “post credential era”.  The first system to blend key security features that eliminates 90% of cybersecurity threats which are: phishing, social engineering and man-in-the-middle attacks – most frequent hacking methods.
“Forrester estimates that 80% of security breaches involve privileged credentials.”*

In a study of 905 phishing attacks, 91% were after user credentials. 63% of data breaches result from weak or stolen passwords.

As the next-generation cybersecurity platform Cyberus Key eliminates completely user IDs/passwords and use of ANY type of user credentials that can be stolen.

Cyberus Key is the first system for the “post-credential era”- a one click, password-less login system using smartphone. No passwords to remember or type anymore, no user credentials – nothing for hackers to steal, no phishing attacks.
Cyberus Key is the only system that verifies both sides of a transaction, the user to the service and vice versa, available for web and mobile online services/applications with unique frictionless UX.  It is a universal user authentication system that is simple to use yet ultra-secure. Innovative technology is using the only unbreakable encryption system and sound communication to authenticate the user. It eliminates also problem of password-sharing and enables 2nd screen interactivity, loyalty link and other marketing solutions.
Passwords are a frustrating user experience but also a major risk for business. In 2016 $4 million is the average total cost of data breach, a 29% increase in total since 2013. Estimated 3-4 billion sets of user credentials stolen over the last 5 years.

“Cybersecurity Ventures predicts cybercrime damages will cost the world $6 trillion annually by 2021, up from $3 trillion in 2015.”*

Cyberus Key is a user login system that is both simple to use and ultra-secure for companies and their clients preventing such heavy financial and reputation losses

“A majority (70%) of consumers would stop doing business with a company if it experienced a data breach, according to a survey of more than 10,000 consumers worldwide conducted on behalf of Gemalto. In addition, seven in ten consumers (69%) feel businesses don’t take the security of customer data very seriously”. *

CYBERUS KEY is a perfect login solution for internal company employee use and for external clients across many sectors: fintech, banking, eCommerce, healthcare, on-line media.
Cyberus Labs’s next step is to adapt this simply secure login solution to the fast-growing world of connected devices - the Internet of Things (IoT). ELIoT Pro is another Cyberus Labs’ cybersecurity system, a game-changing end-to-end cybersecurity solution for IoT networks, protecting human users, devices and data from hackers threatening connected cars, connected homes, smart cities and smart industries.
Based in Krakow, Poland, Cyberus Labs was founded by 3 experienced entrepreneurs: George Slawek, Jack Wolosewicz (inventor of the Cyberus Key, formerly working for NASA, US Navy, Draper Labs) and Marek Ostafil. Cyberus Labs is a fast-growing global company with clients and distribution channels in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
